We love wedges. Chunky wedges, slim elegant wedges, embellished wedges, high heeled wedges or low wedges, we love them all..
Here's why we believe the wedge heel is safer than your average heel...
Since there's extra material under your foot as opposed a miniscule stiletto heel, you're less likely to injure yourself. The wedge sandal's heel will be steadier, more comfortable and you'll be less likely to lose your balance and possibly twist your ankle. During all those summer days spent meandering down the sidewalks and perusing small shops, your feet will thank you for offering a bit more support than a skinny little heel or a slab of foam rubber. Not to mention you get the sexy calves heels offer, with less pain. That's not to say these shoes are as good as, say, walking shoes, but as far as heels and fashion go, these are a good bet.
In the recent years, sales of ladies wedge shoes have risen, however occassionally the wedge heel dissappears for some time, however loyal wedge wearers always return to the comfort of the classic wedge!
Celebrity Carmen Electra (please see above) is choosing which wedges she should wear, other celeb wedge-wearers include actress Eva Mendes and Michelle Heaton.
In summer, when wearing smart day shorts it can be difficult to wear a heel, without looking, well...dodgy! Wedge sandals can be the perfect solution, espadrille canvas wedges look great with summer linen shorts and pretty summer tops. For example, these SUMMER floral wedges with a really pretty Laura Ashley inspired print and a wicker-style wedge will look good with jeans, linen dresses, summer skirts and smart shorts. Worn best with Fuschia coloured toe-nail varnish. These wedges also come in green floral print.
These gladiator wedges in black and white patent are the summer wedge that will take you from day to night and the good thing about these wedges is that the front of the sandal is adjustable by the buckles, so you can also have the perfect fitting wedges!
